Easter Mass Bouquets are now available from the Parish Office, cost £2. All intentions will be included in the liturgies celebrated at St Columba’s Church, Long Tower during Holy Week.
Eucharistic Adoration: There will be a period of Eucharistic Adoration for Healing in the World and especially in Ukraine this Sunday 27th March from 2-4pm in St Columba’s Church, Long Tower. Everyone is welcome.
The New Parish Collection Envelopes are now available. We would appreciate if the usual distributors could call and collect the envelopes for distribution in their areas at the Parish Office from Monday 28th March during office hours 9am-2.00pm. If you don’t receive your envelopes during the next few weeks, please telephone the Parish Office on 7126 2301 or leave your name and contact number in the Sacristy and we will make suitable arrangements for you to receive a box of envelopes and details for collection of same. Anyone from outside the parish who received collection envelopes in previous years should call at the Sacristy.

The Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will resume this year, from 3 – 8 July 2022. Cost: £689 per person sharing, with single room supplement £150. Price includes flights, transfers and full board. The pilgrimage will be suitable for pilgrims who do not require medical, nursing or personal assistance as, unfortunately, this cannot be provided this year. The intentions of the sick of the diocese can be taken to Lourdes. The Pilgrimage Office, 164 Bishop Street, Derry, will be open for enquires and application forms on Thursdays and Saturdays, 11.00am – 1.00pm, from 3 March. Candlelight Vigil to Pray for People of Ukraine, Tuesday 29th March’22, Guildhall Square, Derry, 7-8pm. Everyone welcome.
Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem – annual Spring Mass celebrations in Derry – Over the weekend of Saturday 2nd April and Sunday 3rd April 2022, Knights and Dames from this prestigious Catholic Order will travel from all over Ireland to Derry City They will be present at 12.30pm Mass on Sunday afternoon in St Eugene’s Cathedral. They will attend also a special Mass celebration on Saturday afternoon at 4.30pm in St. Columb’s Church, Waterside. Both events are open to the public and parishioners from the Diocese are invited to attend in person or join virtually, as the masses will be live-streamed on the Cathedral and Parish websites. The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem has approximately 30,000 members worldwide organised in 60 Lieutenancies, including Ireland. It works to support the 150,000 Christians remaining in the Holy Land. Each year, the Order contributes approximately €3 million towards Capital Investment projects, Humanitarian Aid initiatives and Pastoral Support activities. Donations go to support poor families, an orphanage, crèches, health care institutions, homes for the elderly and disabled, 40 primary and secondary schools, staff and clergy in 60 parishes of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and most recently refugees displaced from Syria and Iraq who are resident temporarily in Jordan.
