‘BUILDING PARISH LIFE’ – Talk by Mr David Wells in St Columb’s College, Buncrana Road, Derry: Tuesday 29 August, 7.00pm – 8.30pm. You are invited to a talk on building parish life with catechist, international speaker and author David Wells. David has worked with parishes and dioceses internationally, encouraging and inspiring people to share the Joy of the Gospel, through the lens of building parish life. He invites us to be witnesses to the Gospel and to encourage others on their journey of faith, in the context of taking up opportunities, ministries and responsibilities at local parish level. This is a free event. Booking is not required. We hope this talk, will be an inspiration to renew the work of building parish and help discern the way forward in changing times in our parishes. Diocesan Religious Education Conference 30th August 2023 – Boards of Governors and Management- Bishop McKeown extends an invitation to all members of Boards of Governors/Management who serve in Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Derry, to an evening session on the 30th August at 7pm in Saint Columb’s College. There will be a presentation by Brendan McGinn, Principal Saint Mary’s College, Derry, on ‘Building Communities of Dialogue and Forgiveness’, a panel session to allow for discussion/questions on the role of Governors in supporting this, finishing with a prayer of dedication for all Board Members. This is, an opportunity also to celebrate and acknowledge the great work done by Board Members in Catholic schools throughout the diocese.

Blessing of Bikes – St Aengus’ Church, Burt, Co. Donegal: All bikers are very welcome to the annual blessing of motorbikes and scooters on Sunday 17th September at 1.00pm. There will be a short service in St Aengus’ Church at 1.00pm, followed by the blessing of the bikes. During the service, prayers will be said for all our biker friends who have died since this time last year. Names can be emailed to gerardsweeney@ymail.com. A collection will be taken up for the RNLI. After the blessing, there will be a run to the RNLI Station at Ned’s Point, Buncrana. Light refreshments will be available for all. A Mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, Derry Road, Strabane at 11:30am, on the same day. The Mass will be in remembrance of all deceased bikers. We will leave immediately after Mass to go to St Aengus, Burt.

Pilgrimage To Medjugorje 2023:- A limited number of places are available for a Pilgrimage to Medjugorje departing from Dublin Airport on 20th September and returning a week later. Cost is £695 per person sharing which covers return flights, accommodation, breakfast and an evening meal. There is an additional charge for single room occupancy.
