‘Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you’ (Luke 17:11-19)
There were many healings given by Jesus when he lived among us. Some of these were for body ailments, tortured minds and some for the human spirit haunted by darkness. Within each healing, he gently removed the suffering through a form of cleansing that some of us may find challenging to comprehend. This may be because society tells us that reality is only the ‘visible’ and not the ‘invisible’ things in our world. Therefore, to trust the ‘invisible’, we need faith. Faith allows us to unconditionally trust that we are surrounded by the Divine’s endless stream of love and protection – not seen with the eyes but encountered in the heart. Though painful things happen in our life that we cannot always understand, the only thing that will help us survive is faith. For faith lightens the fatigue of pain and gives us the strength to stand up and keep going.
