Padre Pio Intercede for Us
Padre Pio Mass for Healing in Mind & Body continues this Monday 5th June at 7.30pm Through the gift of this Mass we will unite in prayer with all who are ill, unwell, feeling isolated and struggling with the pressures of life. We pray to be surrounded by the light and warmth of God’s love to heal us at this time. We hope at the end of each Mass to give a Blessing using a 1st class relic of Padre Pio. The Mass will be streamed via our parish website: www.longtowerchurch.org then click on the link for the webcam or alternatively by logging on to www.churchmedia.tv Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Monthly Holy Hour for Vocations will be replaced this month by the Mass in honour of St Columba in St Columba’s Church, Long Tower, Derry, at 7.30pm on Friday 9th June. The Rosary will be recited in Irish at the Grotto at 7pm. The Mass will be broadcast on: https://longtowerchurch.org/webcam/
Cemetery Sunday: The Annual Service of Intercession for the Dead will take place in the City Cemetery on Sunday, 25th June 2023 at 3.00 pm.

7am: Mass at the Hawthorn Tree (beside Fr Lynch’s Grave at the Grotto) concluding All-Night Adoration
10am: Mass with the Children/Families of Long Tower, Nazareth House & Gaelscoil Eadain Mhoir Primary Schools and planting of Oak Tree
7.30pm: Solemn Mass of St Columba celebrated by Bishop Donal McKeown, followed by procession to St Columba’s Well, led by St Colmcille’s Pipe Band.
Refreshments and Traditional Music Session in Lower Long Tower Primary School Hall with Parish Draw*
Sunday 11th June: Solemnity of Corpus Christi
12 Noon: Mass concludes with Blessed Sacrament Procession around Long Tower grounds concluding with Benediction at the Calvary. All P4 children who made their First Holy Communion are invited to participate at the Mass and lead the procession wearing their First Communion clothes. Ice cream to follow!

Music for A Summer’s Evening Concert: Join International Chart topping singers Fr Eugene O’Hagan from the multi-platinum selling classical group “The Priests” and International award winning singer Margaret Keys at Christ Church, Derry on the 17th June at 7.30pm, together with the stunning Scala Strings Orchestra and guest choir for what promises to be a night of uplifting and much loved music. The Holy Family Padre Pio Prayer Group will meet on Tuesday 6th June at Holy Family Chapel, Ballymagroarty, Derry. Starting with the Holy Rosary at 18:45, Mass at 19.15, and Novena to St. Pio directly afterwards. There will be a first-class relic available for veneration. Everyone Welcome.
Anam Cara Donegal, the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding its monthly Parent Evening for bereaved parents on Thursday 8th June at 7:15pm in the Raddison Blu Hotel, Letterkenny Co.Donegal. This event is free and open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether their death was recent or not. We also offer an online service. Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lough Derg Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th of June:- We are inviting anyone age 16+ to join us for our annual pilgrimage to Lough Derg on Friday the 23rd June to Sunday 25th June. Bishop McKeown will be leading the pilgrimage this year. The cost is £80 for the three nights, including transport from St Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry. The Rally for Life 2023, the biggest pro-life event of the year, is just months away now – and we need YOU to start helping to make this an even bigger and better pro-life demonstration with a special focus on young people and RETAINING the 3-day wait before abortion.
