The Most Holy Trinity 12th June 2022
The Complete Works
The ‘complete works’ of any collection become very desirable to enthusiastic collectors. For many, it can take a lifetime to gather all the components together, sometimes bringing years of disappointment and loss of hope that they many never achieve their goal. Today, may we encounter the ‘complete works’ of the Trinity, assisting in the evolution of our hearts – our beloved Father and Jesus unite as one with the Holy Spirit to pour love into our hearts and declare the truth of His word in our lives. May we, as enthusiastic children, feel the longing to reach our divine destination, with the ancient master of wisdom guiding us – ever hopeful we will not be disappointed that they will complete their sacred work in our hearts.

Diocesan Prayer for Vocations
Lord Jesus Christ, gentle shepherd, you know your sheep, and you know how to reach their hearts. Give to the people of the diocese of Derry hearts that are open to the call of the Holy Spirit.
Speak to the hearts of the faithful men and women of our diocese, that they may hear your call to follow you and serve your people as priests, consecrated religious and consecrated virgins.
Awaken in them the courage to answer: “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”
St. Eugene, pray for us. St. Columba, pray for us. St. John Vianney, pray for us.
We pray God’s blessing on Shaun Doherty who will be ordained deacon at the Basilica of St Paul outside the Walls in Rome on Wednesday 15th June, for service in the diocese of Derry. “It is to the glory of my Father that you should bear much fruit and then you will be my disciples.” Are you being called to love the Lord and His people as a priest, sister or brother? If you are considering such a vocation, speak to Fr Pat O’Hagan, Diocesan Vocations Director, or email the National Vocations Office: info@vocations.ie
Annual Service of Intercession for the Dead takes place in the City Cemetery on Sunday, 26th June/this evening* at 6.00 pm. Please be in position at 5.30 pm. Families are asked to bring their own holy water with them to the Cemetery for the blessing of the graves. At the appropriate time Bishop McKeown will ask a representative of each family to sprinkle their family grave (and neighbouring grave if there is no-one present). There will be no holy water in the Cemetery. Derry City & Strabane District Council, Cemeteries Section, have asked, due the large attendance on Cemetery Sunday, that all able bodied people park their vehicles outside the City Cemetery Grounds. John Quinn, Cemeteries Manager, has confirmed that only vehicles displaying a valid disabled badge will have access to the cemetery and urged the public to adhere to a one-way system in place inside the grounds.
