Mass Guidance
We would like to remind everyone attending Mass & other Church Services that it is mandatory to wear a face covering at all times and to continue to observe social distancing, use the hand sanitiser on entering & leaving the Church and to receive Holy Communion only in the hand. It is up to each of us individually and as a community to keep each other as safe as possible as we continue to live alongside the virus. We thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to gather together as a parish community.
Padre Pio Intercede for Us
Weekly Mass for Healing in Mind & Body continues this Monday 31st May at 7.30pm.
We shall share in a network of prayer, love and support in these difficult times. We remain heartfully present with everyone and wish to connect with all who are ill, unwell, feeling isolated and struggling with the pressures of life. Through the gift of this Mass we will unite in prayer for all. We pray to be surrounded by the light and warmth of God’s love to heal our brokenness at this time of isolation, suffering and loss. We hope at the end of each Mass to give a Blessing using a 1st class relic of Padre Pio. We ask everyone’s assistance to help others connect with this Mass through our webcam – especially the elderly, frail and vulnerable. Please share as best you can knowledge of this Mass with your family & friends. You can access the Mass via our parish website: www.longtowerchurch.org then click on the link for the webcam or alternatively by logging on to www.churchmedia.tv
Complete Works
The ‘complete works’ of any collection become very desirable to enthusiastic collectors. For many, it can take a lifetime to gather all the components together, sometimes bringing years of disappointment and loss of hope that they many never achieve their goal. Today, may we encounter the ‘complete works’ of the Trinity, assisting in the evolution of our hearts – our beloved Father and Jesus unite as one with the Holy Spirit to pour love into our hearts and declare the truth of His word in our lives. May we, as enthusiastic children, feel the longing to reach our divine destination, with the ancient master of wisdom guiding us – ever hopeful we will not be disappointed that they will complete their sacred work in our hearts.
Derry Diocesan Laudato Si Group: Invitation to respond – Diocese of Derry Environmental Strategy. The Diocese of Derry has launched a consultative plan about climate change and the environment and is inviting everyone within the Diocese to read, engage and respond to it. The plan identifies actions and behaviours that support rather than destroy the environment. The suggestions cover such areas as land, buildings, energy, food, travel and waste. A draft of the Environmental Strategy has been posted on the Derry Diocesan website, to view and/or download: https://www.derrydiocese.org/diocese/environmental-strategy. In order to ensure that it is as helpful as possible to your various parish communities however, we would appreciate any constructive feedback on it that you may have to give. We ask if you could:- Read the draft Strategy document and give feedback on aspects that you feel could be supplemented/improved.
– Begin to implement any aspect(s) of it that you feel can be put into practice quickly and easily.
– Draw the attention of both parish groups and individual parishioners to the Strategy and encourage them to give feedback. (This would be especially relevant to schools and any groups/individuals with particular interest in environmental issues).
