St Eugene’s Cathedral Hall- Tea Dance: We will be holding monthly Tea Dances on Friday 24th February, Friday 24th March, Friday 28th April and Friday 26th May from 2-4pm. There will be live music, great craic and dancing for everyone followed by a light tea and refreshments. Places are limited and booking is required. Flower Arranging: Come to create and learn the principles of flower arranging and take home a floral bouquet. Classes will take place on Wednesday 22nd March, Wednesday 29th March and Wednesday 5th April. The classes will take place at 11.00am and 7.00pm. Places are limited and booking is required. Cathedral Voices: Is a singing group for people living with dementia and older members of the community. The singing club takes place every Thursday from 1.30pm-3.00pm. There is a great social aspect to the club; It is a time to come to listen to music, have a cup of tea and a chat. There is also lots of laughter too. If you are interested in attending please call St Eugene’s Cathedral on 02871262894. These projects have been supported by the Public Health Agency and CLEAR.
RTÉ will broadcast Mass on Sunday 19 February 2023 at 11am to mark Temperance Sunday 2023. Prayers will be offered for all who are in treatment for addiction and for those who are in recovery. The Offertory Hymn composed by Ephrem Feeley is a new arrangement of the Serenity Prayer.

Would you like to become a volunteer at Foyle Hospice? Volunteers are an important part of enabling Foyle Hospice to keep delivering a range of services and specialist palliative care to the community. Day Hospice volunteers are needed to offer complimentary therapies, creative therapies and beauty therapies. Minibus drivers are also needed to take patients to and from the Day Hospice. A range of fundraising volunteers are needed for a number of roles including organising, assisting and promoting events, making collections and promoting the weekly draw. Retail volunteers are also needed for Foyle Hospice shops in Waterloo Place and Springtown Industrial Park in Derry and in our shops in Strabane, Limavady & Castlederg. Applications for volunteering open on 30th January and close on 28th February. We very much regret that once more we are not in a position to provide medical, nursing and personal care as was customary in the past. It is our earnest hope and prayer that we will be able to restore these services in 2024.
This year’s Worldwide Day of Prayer for Survivors and Victims of Sexual Abuse will take place on 24th February the first Friday of Lent. The Day of Prayer is an initiative of Pope Francis and was first marked in Irish dioceses in 2017. Blessed candles will be lit in parishes across the country as a reminder to the faithful of the need for atonement and to symbolise repentance; light in the darkness and hope. These ‘Candles of Atonement’ will be lit in diocesan cathedrals and churches on the Day of Prayer, and thereafter during the celebration of Mass and other liturgies.
