We take this opportunity to sincerely thank Bishop Donal McKeown for everything he has done for us in his untiring service for the Lord and His people. He has always been here for us at Long Tower, leading us in countless celebrations over the years and always with kindness, warmth, humour along with his incredible boundless energy and enthusiasm! We will miss him greatly. We wish him every good wish and God’s blessing in his well-deserved rest and retirement.

Fr. John Forbes has recently published a book of reflections through poetry entitled ‘Remembering the Floating Moments of Life’. The book costs £10 with net proceeds being donated to Children in Crossfire and to support the Cause for Sr Clare’s Canonisation. Croagh Patrick – Reek Sunday Weekend Pilgrimage Schedule: Garland Friday, 24 July, the local pilgrimage will begin with 10am Mass on the Summit of Croagh Patrick celebrated by Fr. Tod Nolan PP Newport. 7.30pm Mass at Murrisk Community Café – Croagh Patrick carpark. Reek Saturday, 25th July- 8.15am Tochar Phádraigh Pilgrimage will begin at Ballintubber Abbey. At 6.30pm a Vigil Mass will be celebrated in Saint Mary’s Church Westport by Archbishop Francis Duffy Archbishop of Tuam and Bishop of Killala.Reek Sunday 26th July – Masses will be celebrated hourly on the summit from 8.00am – 2.00pm. Confessions will take place from 7.30am – 2.00pm.

Encounter School of Ministry Course is launching in All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham, Co. Donegal in September. This course draws from the richness of our Catholic heritage as we seek to teach, equip, and activate disciples to demonstrate the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit in their spheres of influence.
