Mass Guidance
We would like to remind everyone attending Mass & other Church Services that it is mandatory to wear a face covering at all times and to continue to observe social distancing, use the hand sanitiser on entering & leaving the Church and to receive Holy Communion only in the hand. It is up to each of us individually and as a community to keep each other as safe as possible as we continue to live alongside the virus. The July edition of The Net, the monthly publication sharing the fruits of faith in the Derry Diocese, is now available. With Covid-19 restrictions still in place, the March edition will only be available on the Diocesan website: https://www.derrydiocese.org/news/the-net-july-2021. Foyle Hospice is currently seeking new volunteers to join our team in our Day Hospice. With services re-opening we are in urgent of volunteer; Hairdressers, Complementary Therapists, Beauticians/ Nail Technicians. Our Day Hospice is a friendly and welcoming environment where patients receive specialist palliative care services and support combined with key complementary therapies. We have a fantastic team of staff and volunteers who will welcome you to the team. The Day Hospice is operational on a Tuesday, Wednesday and a Thursday each week. The Lough Derg Pilgrim Path on the lough shore is now open daily. The full route is a 12km loop, with a shorter 8km option, and several information boards highlight features of particular interest. Leaflets are available at the Visitors Centre. A guided walk experience will be offered on Sunday 25th and Saturday 31st July, with Mass outdoors, weather permitting. Further dates for these guided walks will follow for late August and early September. Theology of the Arts. Does the Church Need Art? The Priory Institute eek-long online Summer School will run from 8-13 August and again from 22-27 August. CERTIFICATE IN CHRISTIAN THOUGHT: Drumalis Retreat Centre, in association with St Mary’s University College, Belfast, invites applications for this two-year, part-time, intensive course which begins in September 2021. The course will be delivered over 7 Saturdays in each of two successive years, from 10:00am until 4:30pm. The Certificate in Christian Thought programme aims to offer a space where adults can explore, reflect upon, discuss and study faith and how it relates to life in today’s world, both at a personal and community level.
