Our sincerest thanks to Fr Peter O’Kane, Diocesan Evangelisation and Faith Formation Co-ordinator for so kindly being with us at all Masses last weekend. Fr Peter encouraged us in our various roles/ministries in the parish and challenged us all to reflect on our individual response to the Lord’s invitation to ‘come, follow me’. Fr Peter said: “We’ve heard Jesus saying: ‘Come follow me’. The question is: ‘How do I say yes?’ What ‘yes’ is the Lord asking you and me to help this parish, to give it life and to help us grow in our faith?” Would you like to join the dedicated and committed people of Long Tower parish in their various ministries? As a Minister of the Word (Reader at Daily and Sunday Masses)? Eucharistic Minister? Ministry of Music? Martha Minister as a Cleaner! Ground Maintenance, Collector, or Hospitality/Welcomers at our various Parish events? Being involved in lay-led liturgies (leading prayer services) and training in catechetics and faith formation? Perhaps you feel you have something to give but there is no opportunity in the parish. This is a brilliant opportunity and invitation for all the Baptised in this parish to live out our faith more fully and become involved in the life of the parish. Have a think about it! We will have a Day of Renewal and Recruitment on Sunday 3rd March. More details to follow.
