from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love.
O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands. (mention in silence here),
St. Therese, help me to always believe as you did in God’s great love for me, so that I might imitate your “Little Way” each day’. Amen
In Memory Programme
The ‘Do This In Memory’ Mass for those children who are celebrating their First Communion this year will take place this Sunday, 29th September at 12 noon.
Why Go To Mass?
When you were baptised you became a member of God’s family and we call that the Church. You might think the church is just a building but the Church is also the name we give to the people who gather in the building. Without the people, the Church would be just another building. One of the most important things we do as part of God’s family is go to Mass.
“Many things have to change course, but it is we human beings above all who need to change. We lack an awareness of our common origin, of our mutual belonging, and of a future to be shared with everyone. A great cultural, spiritual and educational challenge stands before us, and it will demand that we set out on the long path of renewal.” Pope Francis
Many of us do not like change in our lives or to be challenged. It is the fear of the unknown and what others think that keeps us in our little cocoons of security – doing the same things over and over again expecting different outcomes. Allowing ourselves to remain inert prevents us from creating the changes needed in our inner and outer worlds – we become entangled and distorted with our selfish needs and desires to consume as much as we can to fulfill the emptiness within. Here’s the challenge – let us today try to take a new path – to leave fear behind and speak up as witnesses for the truth; to everyone we meet let His love and tenderness pass through our hearts as we rebuild our common home, together.
