In Memory Programme
The ‘Do This In Memory’ Mass for those children who are celebrating their First Communion this year will take place on Sunday, 14th April at 12 noon.
The Eucharistic Prayer The priest prays what we call the Eucharistic prayer over gifts of bread and wine. This is the most important prayer of the whole Mass. In Church language it is the “centre and summit” of the celebration. The priest as the leader of the assembly prays this prayer on our behalf and we participate by listening and responding when invited to do so. In the Roman Missal, from which the priest reads the prayers of the Mass, there are seven Eucharistic prayers.
“Why should it be wasting the soil?”
We are blessed to have arrived at the half way point of our forty days of inner renewal with Jesus. It feels His loving guidance has helped us through our daily struggles with the lure of false illusion that traps us in the narrow land of emptiness and fear. It also seems that the work we do with Him and the sacrifices we make helps remove those aspects of ourselves that are coming up to be refined and reformed. As He unfolds us into the broader land of His heart, we are reminded to stay vigilant, to avoid straying into barren fields that prevent us from bearing new fruit in our lives. May we no longer waste the soil around our tree of life, let it continue to be nourished with the divine waters of love, allowing us to eternally flower in His kingdom.

CAN YOU HELP US ADDRESS THE NEED FOR FOOD IN THIS CITY: The Pantry Project is a project of The Churches Trust. It was established as a crisis response to meet the needs of people (individuals and families) who for one reason or another find themselves in a situation of extreme hardship. The Churches Trust collect food donations and work with community hubs to distribute food parcels to those in need. People can be referred to the project by contacting their local community groups, or Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership, or Greater Shantallow Area Partnership (Ethos project). We would appreciate if you could bring non-perishable foods to the church next week. Flyers about the project are available at the back of the church. The Churches Trust will arrange to pick-up the food from the church. If you would like to know more about the Pantry Project, please call The Churches Trust on 71311322
