PARISH PROGRAMME FOR LENT 2019
‘When we entrust ourselves to the Lord, We can overcome all obstacles that we encounter on the way.’
Stations of the Cross Monday to Wednesday before the evening Mass.
We would like to thank everyone who lead and participated in the Stations of the Cross over Lent.
Palm Sunday Palms will be blessed at all Masses this weekend.
In Memory Programme
The ‘Do This In Memory’ Mass for those children who are celebrating their First Communion this year will take place this Sunday, 14th April at 12 noon.
The Sign of peace When we are at Mass we are there as part of God’s family. At communion time we are invited to the Lords table to share the bread of life. It is like being asked to sit down and eat together and that is hard to do if we are not friends with someone else in the family. At this point in the Mass, as members of God’s family who are about to share the bread of life together, we are invited to share a sign of peace with those around us. This is usually done by shaking hands and saying, “Peace be with you”. We answer “And with your spirit”.
“The Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced.”
This week we were given a most sacred mission – to retreat into our hearts and reawaken the divine presence in our lives. In the days that followed the exposition of the blessed sacraments were revealed to us again, renewing and uplifting our spirits. As we opened and emptied ourselves to the wonderous presence of grace we felt cleansed, nourished and healed with the essence of His love. In the days ahead may the spirit that has touched our hearts travel with us in the service of Jesus -bending our knees in humility and laying down our hearts in joyful praise for all the deeds of power we have witnessed; no longer feeling disgraced but the freedom to start a new period in our lives, families and communities.
